Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 7 will end on January 14, 2020. According to Microsoft, "If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for your business. No technical support. No software updates. No security updates. To avoid security risks and viruses, Microsoft recommends you upgrade to Windows 10."
Until January 14, 2020, MicroSurvey Software Inc. will continue to develop, test, and support all of our products for Windows 7, providing that all third-party components still support it.
After January 14, 2020, MicroSurvey Software Inc. will no longer use the Windows 7 operating system for any development, testing, or technical support. After this date, Windows 7 will be completely unsupported. While our existing products may or may not continue to operate without issue beyond this date, using an unsupported operating system is not recommended and any issues that are specific to an unsupported operating system will not be addressed. New MicroSurvey software released after after this date may not support installation within a Windows 7 environment.
Over the past year, MicroSurvey Software Inc. has been anticipating and preparing for this by upgrading our computers with more modern operating systems including Windows 10, and we do not expect the retirement of Windows 7 to adversely affect our internal processes or introduce any delay to our upcoming product releases.
Similar retirements of popular operating systems in recent years have occurred for Windows Vista in 2017 and Windows XP in 2014.
