Use ALBROWSE to manage Alignment in a drawing

Many functions in the MsDesign ribbon of MicroSurvey CAD, inCAD, embeddedCAD or SurveyTools for Bricscad work with alignments.  When you create an alignment in a drawing a collection of special purpose entities and layers will be created in the drawing.  These entities are meant to be used by MicroSurvey Routines and are dependant on each other, so care must be taken when using CAD functions to edit these items.

The most prominent type of entity created in a drawing is a "POT" which is represented as a red circle:

If, when you are learning to work with alignments by experimenting (an excellent way to learn) you may have unintentionally deleted one of the special entities or layers required for an alignment.  If you later attempt to perform an MsDesign command you may see an error message that results when an expected entity is missing.  The error message may look like:

Unable to get data for entity with handle (handent failed(-5001)) 'XXXXXX'

When an error like this occurs, you may wish to send the drawing to our support team to see if we can repair it.  Or you may need to copy the basic CAD entities to a fresh drawing and try the operation again.

BUT in the future, please manage alignments using the ALBROWSE command.  This command allows you to cycle through alignments stored in your drawing and allows you to view, edit or delete individual alignments:
