MicroSurvey inCAD 2025
MicroSurvey brings intuitive calculation tools for land surveyors to popular drafting platforms, including BricsCAD®, IntelliCAD and AutoCAD®. MicroSurvey inCAD 2025 runs on existing AutoCAD® 2025 installations, including AutoCAD®, AutoCAD Map3D®, and AutoCAD Civil 3D®. AutoCAD brings Smart Blocks, enhanced automation tools, and insights.
What’s New in Version 25.0
What’s New
- Support for the 2025 releases of Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Map 3D products.
- The Fast Area command now always shows the perimeter and area on the command line, and when the output scale toggle is turned on, will include the scaled distances and areas.
- On the licensing dialogue, the network license Activate and Deactivate buttons are greyed out when they cannot be used, such as when a license is checked out for offline use.
- Updated the driver to communicate with USB licenses.
- inCAD 2025 can now be installed on a virtual machine.
- Added support for the Australian MGA2020 coordinate system using the GDA2020 datum and GRS80 ellipsoid.
- Updated the Coordinate system library parameters for Romania 70 and introduced the Hungary EOV (VITEL2014) system.
- Label Styles for curve labels have been added, previously there was only a single option for curve labels on the MsAnnotate ribbon.
What’s Improved
- The Lot Closure Routine now recognizes lower case letters in the bearing entry field.
- Bearing and Distance label style indexes have been increased from 5 to 10.
- We improved how cloud-based network licenses are handled to reduce the frequency of problems some users experienced.
Bug Fixes
- Drawings which were saved to a file path backed up by Microsoft OneDrive would improperly close due to unexpected locking of files. OneDrive will no longer negatively impact the saving and closing of drawings, causing the Drawing Recovery Wizard to appear when opening those drawings.
- In COGO, when prompted to create a new point and hitting escape to return to COGO, the create point (EDITP) dialog was trapped in a loop with “_REDRAWALL” in the point ID field.
- Using the Active Coordinate Editor to change point layer properties when using Point Blocks would cause a crash.
- Several locked layer crashes, including:
- Changing the MicroSurvey system toggle Point Blocks on or off with any MicroSurvey points on a locked layer.
- MS_POINTUPDATE with any affected entities on a locked layer would cause a crash.
- Creating a new MicroSurvey point with any of the destination layers locked would cause a crash.
- The Lot Closure Routine when using Bearings would show some curve values in Azimuth.
- COGO was not computing the correct direction using the + or – options. For example: 1..2 <return> + <return> 90 <return> would only use the original 1..2 direction.
- When computing volumes from surfaces, the command line output had many extra blank lines included.
- A floating network license could not be checked out for offline use.
Important Notes
Compatibility and Upgrades
MicroSurvey inCAD will read and write to *.DWG drawing files and our *.MSZ database interchangeably with our other CAD products: MicroSurvey CAD, embeddedCAD, and SurveyTools for BricsCAD. There are no compatibility issues or workarounds required to use saved MicroSurvey databases between these products. We have supported the *.MSZ format since 2008, and offer conversion utilities for older formats which are described here.
