The following is a list of critical bugs or important limitations that users should be aware of which affect MicroSurvey CAD 2026. It is not intended as an exhaustive list of all issues.
Important Note: If you ever experience a crash when using MicroSurvey CAD, when you are asked if you would like to send an error report, please always select Yes to send the report. MicroSurvey and IntelliCAD programmers can use these error reports to help investigate and fix crashing problems that occur within the program, even if it is a problem that is not easily reproducible. Please note the crash reports are not actively monitored for technical support purposes.

Reported: Nov 26, 2025
Problem: Opening drawings created in MicroSurveyCAD 2024 resets label styles to default values, including the label default distance scale factors. Drawings created from versions previous then MicroSurveyCAD 2024 work fine.
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.

Problem: When converting an LGS point cloud to an LGSx, if the LGS has a filepath longer than 128 characters then MicroSurvey CAD Ultimate will crash.
Workaround: Move the file to a different folder location with a shorter path, such as in "C:\MicroSurvey" for example.

Reported: March, 2025
Problem: When using the Properties dialog to change multiple entities to a frozen layer, the user must acknowledge a dialog "Selected Entities Changed to a frozen or off layer" for every object in the selection set.
Workaround: Enter LAYEROFFORFROZENNOTIFY in the command line. Enter 0 (zero) and enter. Close and open the program to make this change permanent.
