Important Note: If you ever experience a crash when using MicroSurvey CAD 2009, if you are asked if you would like to send an error report to Microsoft, please always select Yes to send the report. Our programmers can use these error reports to help investigate and fix crashing problems that occur within the program, even if it is a problem that is not easily reproducible.

Problem: Using MicroSurvey CAD running under a 64-bit edition of Windows Vista has the following reported problems:
- USB License Manager included in the install does not work. You can download and install a 64 bit compatible version from this link.
- Training movies do not play. This is because our .SWF movies are played using Adobe Flash Player, but a 64-bit Flash Player does not exist. The 32-bit Flash Player can be installed into 64-bit editions of Internet Explorer or Firefox but it does not work correctly. The 32-bit Flash Player can only be used with 32-bit editions of Internet Explorer or Firefox, which can be installed into 32-bit or 64-bit editions of Windows. Adobe has announced plans on creating a 64-bit edition of Flash Player (for use with 64-bit editions of Internet Explorer or Firefox) in a future major release. The movies can instead be accessed from our website at this link.
- Boundary Hatches - hatch pattern previews are not displayed in the bhatch command window, but they do appear once drawn into the drawing.
- Windows - Cannot press alt-tab to switch between windows
- In Windows 7, drawing a curvey leader causes the drawing to appear blank unless the drawing is being panned. Closing and re-opening the drawing will clear this up. Typing Plinetype in the command line and setting it to 0 appears to clean up the problem. Set this value in your template to make the solution permanent.

Status: Confirmed (9.2.0)
Problem: After printing or generating a print preview of a drawing, all or some entities can seem to disappear. What is happening, is they are still there but they are shown in the color as specified by the print style table - the most common result is you get black entities against a black background.
Solution: Issue a REGEN to bring back the "missing" entities. This will be fixed in a future update.
Date Reported: December 1, 2008
Status: Confirmed (9.2.0)
Problem: If you paste text from your clipboard into the MTEXT dialog, nothing appears in the drawing. But, if you switch your background to white you will then see the text.
Solution: After pressing Ctrl-V to paste the text into the MTEXT dialog, press Ctrl-A to highlight All text, then set the color to white (even though it already says it is white). This will be fixed in a future update.
Date Reported: December 1, 2008
Status: Confirmed (9.2.0)
Problem: Modifications to some user paths made by opening CadTools | Options | Paths/Files are not being retained once the program restarts.
Solution: Most paths will update but some paths are not customizable.
Date Reported: December 1, 2008
Status: Rejected (9.2.0) - Problem is due to interference from third party software
Problem: Some users report slow response and unusual lag times when executing commands within a drawing. This has been found to be due to anti-virus scanners, backup agents, or disk and network monitors actively accessing the database files whenever MicroSurvey CAD accesses them.
Solution: Your local Network Administrator or IT Department can confirm whether anything is accessing your files using a utility called Process Monitor (a free download from www.sysinternals.com). Any files that are being accessed by an anti-virus scanner, a live backup agent, network monitoring agent, etc will show up in the Process Monitor log. You can then configure that anti-virus or other application to ignore the appropriate files or your entire Jobs or Forensic Scenes folder.

Status: Confirmed (9.2.0), Fixed (9.2.1)
Problem: Changing the layer of any entity using the Layers pulldown list on the Entity Properties toolbar always causes the following message to pop up: "Object(s) changed to a frozen or off layer and removed from the selection set"
9.2.0 Workaround: Press OK on the message, and re-select the entities if you need to do anything else with them.
Solution: Install MicroSurvey CAD 2009 SP1 (version 9.2.1) or newer.
Date Reported: December 8, 2008
Status: Confirmed (9.2.0), Fixed (9.2.1)
Problem: The Lot Closure command draws lines even if the "Draw Lines" option is turned off.
9.2.0 Workaround: For now you need to manually erase the unwanted linework after it gets drawn in by the program.
Solution: Install MicroSurvey CAD 2009 SP1 (version 9.2.1) or newer.

Status: Confirmed (9.2.0), Fixed (9.2.1)
Problem: After editing a Batch COGO file, running it causes quotation marks to appear around the descriptions of the calculated points.
9.2.0 Workaround: After making your edits to the Batch file, close the editor and save your changes. Then open the .BCH file in a text editor such as Notepad and do a Search/Replace for , " (a comma then a space then a double-quote) with ," (a comma then a double-quote), and also if necessary do a Search/Replace for "" (two or more consecutive double-quotes) with " (one double-quote).
Solution: Install MicroSurvey CAD 2009 SP1 (version 9.2.1) or newer.

Status: Confirmed (9.2.0)
Problem: After using the ROTATE3D command, the rotated entities seem to either disappear or move to an incorrect position.
Solution: Issue a REGEN to force the entities to display correctly. This is a display problem only, the ROTATE3D command does rotate the entities correctly but they are drawn to the screen incorrectly until you do a REGEN. This will be fixed in a future update.

Problem: When using the EXPORT command to create a PDF file, some entities are not exported. Wipeouts appear as a solid fill. Raster images appear as an outlined border only. Layout Viewports (and any entities shown through the viewport) do not appear at all.
Solution: Use a PDF virtual printer driver with the PRINT command to create your PDF files. This also gives you more control over specifying your print scale, and other options such as Print Style Tables. There are hundreds of free and commercial PDF plotters including PDF 995 (free, www.pdf995.com), Primo PDF Creator (free, www.primopdf.com), and Adobe Acrobat Writer (commercial, www.adobe.com). These EXPORT issues will be fixed in a future update, but using a PDF driver will still give you more control over the generated PDF file anyways.
