Spanish Geoid Models Download

FieldGenius 2011 now supports the Geoid Models for Spain.

The EGM08Spain_REDNAP geoid model does not come installed with FieldGenius, and therefore it must be copied manually onto each data collector that you wish to use this geoid model file.

Steps to Install:

1. Download and unzip the byn files from our website and save it to your computer.
2. Connect your data collector to your computer and find the location where FieldGenius is stored.  You will be able to find the Mapping folder in the MicroSurvey Fieldgenius\Programs\Mapping folder.
3. Copy the EGM08Spain_REDNAP.byn file that you wish to use from your computer into the MicroSurvey Fieldgenius\Programs\Mapping directory on the data collector.

Steps to Use the EGM08Spain_REDNAP.byn

• From the Main Menu | Settings | Coordinate Systems change the Vertical Systems to EGM08Spain_REDNAP.byn.
• Your GPS derived coordinates will now have orthometric heights derived from the EGM08Spain_REDNAP geoid model.

Canary Islands

We have included a smaller geoid model file with this download (EGM2008Spain_Isla Can_REDNAP.byn). It is for the Canary Islands. Unfortunately, we have not been able to test this model because of a lack of test coordinates. Please use this model with caution, if you encounter an issues with this file, please contact MicroSurvey.

Catalunya

We have also included another geoid model in this download.  It is for the Catalunya region.
