PCI Conversion Utility for FARO 4.8

MicroSurvey users with a FARO Laser Scanner can convert their FARO point cloud files (*.FLS,*.FWS) to PCI format using this application. This version supports the FARO 4.8 format.  (Newer FARO formats may not be supported, but as an alternative you can export the scan in PTS format from FARO Scene, then convert the PTS to PCI format using the PCI Conversion Utility.)

Note: This installation requires one of the following products to be installed prior to installation of the PCI Conversion Utility.  An error stating "A required component was not found" will result during installation of the PCI Conversion Utility if one of these specific products are not installed:

Installation Instructions:

Step 1: Download and install any one of the compatible MicroSurvey or MapScenes products listed above. (Even if you have a newer version installed, such as MicroSurvey CAD 2013 SP1.1 or MapScenes Forensic CAD 2013, you must also install one of these older products. You do not need to actually use this older product, but it must be installed on your computer.)

Step 2: Download and install the PCI Conversion Utility from the link above.

Conversion Instructions:

Step 1: Launch the conversion utility from Start | All Programs | MicroSurvey | PCI Conversion Utility for FARO.

Step 2: In the conversion utility, select your FARO .fls or .fws file as a source file. The conversion utility will create a .pcg file and a series of .pci files.

Step 3: Launch your MicroSurvey product, run the Point Cloud Linework command, and open the .pcg file.
